In 2013, Imbibe Magazine launched Negroni Week, a celebration of one of the world’s great cocktails and an effort to raise money for charitable causes. This year it will be from 5th to 11th June 2017. Here bars from around the world will celebrate the classic cocktail and together raise money for charity.
The Negroni was invented in Florence between 1919 and 1920 by Count Camillo Negroni who ordered an Americano with a touch of gin rather than soda, in honor to his last trip to London. Today it is often a bartenders favorit.
This year Negroni Week in Denmark will start off with a bang the 4th of june. Here the bars that have signed up for Negroni Week will be invited for a masterclass in bitter spices held by former Noma guys from Nordic Food Lab.
After this a competition where the bars can present their negroni twist while the music gets a nudge up, drinks are served and the party takes off. No stiff suits or formal presentations….this is for the fun of it!
The winner gets a trip to Stockholm where the fight is on between the winners from the other nordic countries + Germany and UK.
* Last year in Stockholm Sebastian from Duck and Cover represented DK.
